(GPA x x) + MCAT = greater than or equal to 70.
I hear the cutoff for Yale this year is a LizzyM of 75

Been discussed a lot. Just search and yous will notice info. Good luck

I remember the best and simplest reply is "to an extent." Depends how good the MCAT is, how bad the GPA is, and what the rest of your app looks like.

Cheers for the input guys, I guess I'thousand merely wondering if I take a chance at top medical schools since I did really well on the MCAT (41S), merely this semester of grades brought me down to a three.65 (i know, non a bad gpa either. i but feel that it is on the low side)

Yeah, I have to second that. I think you'll be just fine in the admissions process. Obviously you lot would be better served by a 3.ix, but your still a very proficient to even great bidder!
Good luck

the question you should ask yourself is...why would they want you if the top schools can get those with both loftier gpas and mcats...

Well, I guess it depends on what you consider to be a "high" GPA and MCAT. Meridian schools practise by and large get students with relatively loftier GPAs and MCATs, but obviously some MCAT scores are higher than others and can hopefully make upwardly for a slightly less stellar GPA (I was thinking forty+ MCAT making up for a 3.5-3.6 GPA when aiming for top twenty schools)

Well, I approximate it depends on what yous consider to be a "high" GPA and MCAT. Tiptop schools do generally get students with relatively high GPAs and MCATs, but obviously some MCAT scores are college than others and can hopefully make up for a slightly less stellar GPA (I was thinking 40+ MCAT making up for a 3.5-3.half dozen GPA when aiming for meridian 20 schools)
Honestly I think you'll demand stellar ECs as well every bit the 40+ MCAT to really have a good chance at top 20 schools with that GPA unless information technology's from a school like princeton.

Honestly I think you'll need stellar ECs as well as the forty+ MCAT to actually have a good hazard at top 20 schools with that GPA unless it's from a school similar princeton.
Haha, i actually practise go to HYPSM...

Haha, i actually do go to HYPSM...
I meant a school with known grade deflation moreso than just a prestigious school (even though that would manifestly assistance too).

Thanks, only not sure what "strong bump" refers to.

I definitely wouldn't have been accepted if I didn't have an OK MCAT to brand up for my low GPA. Also did an MS tho
